AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

 Mr.President !
I write today as a proud citizen of Pakistan who is among the people which want peace ,justice and stability of Pakistan. Since the  independence of  Pakistan ,it has faced many threats to security of the nation. Pakistan has always been a US ally. It was an ally during the 1979-1988 Afghan War, when the US gave billions of dollars to the Islamic Jihad to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. Militant Islamic movements are a product of the US financing of the Islamic Jihad. Osama is America’s creation.
Pakistan is also helping US on war on terror and we’re living in the debris of this war. Our own internal conflicts, which multiplied during the 1979-1988 Afghan War, have multiplied even further. You want change? Be the first US president to understand these internal struggles. They include: the struggle for better health care, better education, access to drinking water, access to electricity (power cuts this winter averaged 10 hours daily), peace and security,  greater emphasis on cultural activities–on literature, music and things that bring people peace, class equality, women’s rights, minority rights and so on. Pakistanis are sick of bowing to US command and sick of putting our struggles on hold for your wars.
We never wanted terrorism that  is why we wanted a separate land but still we muslims are portrayed as terrorists. You always talk about peace in the world then why is Pakistan not considered to have peace in it.Why is it always a target of terrorism?
An American Raymond Davis killed three Pakistanis in broad day light and was under VIP security afterwards. On the other hand a Pakistani women  Dr.Afia did not do any crime but was harassed, her children abducted, she was humiliated  and sentenced to life imprisonment. US government fully backed the murderer Raymond Davis and demanded his release, ignoring police investigation, courts decision, justice for   the families of the 3 victims. On the contrary Pakistani government handed over Dr.Afia to US and kept almost silent on her punishment. Can you please tell me why a Pakistani citizen, who allegedly carried out a crime in Afghanistan, was charged, tried and sentenced in a US court? No other citizen, from anywhere else in the world, has ever been put on trial in a US criminal court for the attempted  murder of US soldiers although quite clearly, from the horrific statistics coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan the death toll and injuries of US soldiers is now running in excess of tens of thousands.
We, the people of  Pakistan appeal to you on the grounds of justice and humanity to prevent your State department and its diplomats from committing a travesty of justice against the people of Pakistan. Already so many Pakistani lives have been sacrificed for the US-led war on terror, and so many innocent Pakistanis continue to be killed by CIA drone attacks.Pakistan may be observed as a failed state but  still it  wont be destroyed  because since its independence it has gone through   crucial times and  suffered terrible loss ,yet it survived by its well-trained forces and patriotic people.
Mr.President!
Although you talk about peace in the Muslim world  and is not against Islam then why are you in favour of providing Israel veto power and why do you support it?. Pakistan is among the top recipients of U.S. military aid, receiving nearly twice as much for the military as it receives in economic aid .If you really want help and cooperation from Pakistan and want to win war on terror then  it is suggested that  common people of Pakistan should be helped i.e by establishing trade with Pakistan instead of giving money as an aid. By doing so you can win the hearts of Pakistanis because the money which is provided by USA is not well utilized by our politicians and thus common people are kept away far from  their welfare and progress. It is also requested that review of Dr.Afia’s case should be done and provided her justice.I and my fellow Pakistanis are looking  forward for your positive response in our country’s matter. Hope you will accept our request and take immediate action.Thank you!
